Huuuuge and clean rooms with wooden floor, TV, minibar, safe deposit box, bathtube and rain shower, beautiful garden and magnificent sandy beach with a lot of sunbeds and shades, nice swimming pool, free internet, very warm staff and helpful manager (thailands best for me), excellent for resting of city life and stress. Restaurant could do more regarding prices, quantity and quality of food served, but breakfast is excellent. Highly recommended for couples, families and singles in need for good rest. Taxi ride to Khao Lak city 100 Baht/person/way, Royal Thai massage 1hr/360 Baht. We were spending 12 days in the resort and we had very relaxing holidays. Resort was highly occupied with many tourist mainly from Western Europe and US. It was first time in my worldwide travel expirience to see that Hotel IS responsible for your belongins in your room during your stay by their hotel rules! Very good 3,5 stars Thai beach resort!

We landed at Phuket Airport and this was about the only accomodation we could get and planned to stay only 2 nights because out of town. BUT we had a lovely large room, view of sea, sunbeds on beautiful beach, what more do we need so we stayed 9. We looked at other hotels in town after first night in but none could offer a room with as good a views. The staff are still raw around edges, willing to help but have had no training, breakfasts were a little sparse and sometimes staff would go missing and no heat under breakfast dishes, but this meant we could indulge in a snack at lunch at one of the little restaurants along the beach. We do like to have beds on the beach and the Royal Orchid along the Beach only had them on the grass around pool The low price we paid for 2 large connecting rooms was about £85 per night and this helped to compensate for the taxi fares into town on the odd night we ventured in. Once staff are more familiar with hotel business and odd little jobs finished on hotel it will more popular. Most guests were Scandinavians and Eastern Europeans. One thing that did worry me was they started to put a door on the set of stairs by our room, this was used by housekeeping staff, and I wondered if this should be left open as it is the Fire Escape for those on first and second floor.

Without any question, the nicest staff i have ever had the pleasure of meeting in a Thailand hotel. All very polite, helpful and genuinely friendly. The hotel is in three blocks contained in a lovely well kept garden with a grreat pool. Its open sided restaurant is pratically on the beach with view along the coast Rooms are huge clean and well appointed. We downsized from the jacuzzi room to the still big double room to be a little nearer the pool. The hotel is about 1.5k from the nearest shops and is quite isolated.Perfect for total relaxation, but can be a little too quiet for some. All in all I enjoyed my stay very much.................................... THANKYOU

Urlaub pur!

We booked our holiday last minute and with no recent reviews were unsure what we'd find. Any expectations were certainly exceeded. This is a beautiful resort set within lush tropical gardens rolling down to a quiet golden sandy beach front. There is also a swimming pool and large pond set furthur back. All rooms have a terrace or balcony and the rooms are very large and luxurious although simple in style. We upgraded to a jacuzzi suite which we would highly recommend.
There is a restaurant overlooking the beach and a beach bar (on the beach). Both serve a wide range of traditional thai and western food and drinks. Also a bar by the pool. The staff are very friendly and happy to help although the language barrier can cause some difficulties. Most other guests were German and perhaps struggled more with a double language barrier.
Breakfast offers great choice from fresh fruits, toast and made to order omelettes. The coffee and tea are not great but lovely fruit juices are available and i would recommend paying slightly more for the freshly blended ones. We also enjoyed the Jamaican Rum cocktail served in a whole pineapple particularly enjoyable at sunset.
We couldn't have asked for more as we wanted a quiet relaxing break but some may find the hotel too secluded (10 mins taxi to Khao Lak - an uninspiring tourist town).
With the wonderful massage ladies and beach kiosks within walking distance you don't need to venture far. There are many activities in the area such as elephant trekking and many local waterfalls as the surrounding area is protected national park and rainforest.
First impressions do not do justice to this calming oasis but any concerns soon dissapear once you receive a cool drink on arrival and are shown to your room.
The rooms are not completely mosquito proof (if this is ever possible) and it was slightly frustrating to find many of the sunloungers reserved by guests despite notices not to. However nothing could prevent us from having a wonderful stay here and the two weeks we stayed didn't seem long enough - many other guests extended their stay.

I almost would not like to write this review as I would like Andamania to stay as calm as it is today. A real paradise in every possible term. Surrounded by a jungle and located on a quiet part of 8km long white, wide sandy beach. Amazingly huge rooms with teak floors and terraces, either with the garden view or from the main building beautiful sea view. The jacuzzi rooms are fantastic on the second floor, real colonial style. The morning walk through the jungle garden to have delicious breakfast buffet on the open air terrace was unforgettable, as well as the sunsets on the beach zipping cocktails and listening to the sound of waves. You can spend days walking on the beach, swim or run kilometers and explore the two rivers (watch out for jelly fish!). The staff is helpful and their lack of English is cute, they do everything they can to make your stay pleasant despite the constant demands of stressed tourists (mostly Germans) who never seem to be happy. The pool is nice for the kids and beach had enough trees to find shade to spend a lazy day. Thai massage under the palm trees with the sound of waves on your ears... Khao Lak center is 15min taxi drive away, and dive centers pick you up from the hotel, as well as other trip organisers.
I cannot wait to get back. Please do not spoil this fantastic paradise, respect the nature and the people who make your stay unforgettable.

Spacious Thai Style, wooden base hotel. Room and Bath room is HUGE and Spacious for two, however the jacuzzi doesnt bathtub aren't very clean. Is quite far in from the main street, however it has one of the NICEST beachfront beaches. worth the price

We booked 2 nights over the net and then booked a further 2 nights once we were there . It is a comfortable resort , no frills , not expensive and for us was in a good location a few Klm out of town . The beach is clean and is a great walk into town . breakfast is served in their restaurant overlooking the beach so it is in a very nice location . The food was good . Our room was large and clean and cool with aircon though In November it wasnt that hot . we had a motor bike to get around so perhaps the location might not suit everyone . The pool was a bit larger then a home pool and a very simple layout . It had everything we needed on a clean simple scale . Free internet at reception . The staff were friendly . Lots of free sunloungers on the beach in front of the resort . A lovely place for a drink watching the sunset .

We started our two-week vacation with four days at this resort, and can really recommend it for anyone who want to just reset everything for a couple of days in a very nice location. The Phuket airport taxi driver went very fast through the Khao Lak village and overshot the left turn from main road with some kilometers until I pointed out we had missed it. The small dirt road the last few hundred meters made me wonder if really correct, but then it was there! We had a really relaxing and nice stay. The restaurant was quite allright, we had all lunches there, and the breakfast was absolutely good too. But for variety, I still recommend renting a vespa just for the freedom of going in to the village for alternative restaurants for dinner, and other small excursions in the area when staying longer than a couple of days. Spacious rooms, but the best part was of course the beach which was so quiet and beautiful. It was amazing to be sometimes the only one out there swimming, although in peak season.
